Hydrogen sulfide removal
Hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) is produced by long retention times of wastewater in the sewer network. This can be prevented by dosing bivalent metal salts such as iron(II) chloride (FeCl₂). For this purpose, special dosing systems are installed in outdoor cabinets or hazardous substance containers that enable safe storage and handling. The containers offer space for up to four 1,000-litre tank containers, are ventilated and heated and have a resilient floor structure as well as an approved drip tray. The sera Plug & Dose concept ensures simple and efficient installation.
-
Phosphate precipitation
Phosphorus compounds in wastewater promote algae growth and can lead to eutrophication even at low concentrations. To achieve stable effluent values and comply with regulatory limits, targeted phosphate precipitation is essential already in primary clarification.
sera dosing systems enable precise and reliable dosing of coagulants such as iron or aluminium salts. This allows early phosphate binding, reduces load peaks and relieves downstream treatment stages. The modular system is flexible, compact and suitable for various container types. Robust components and optional safety features ensure safe and efficient operation.
-
Alkalinity management
A sufficient alkalinity level is essential for stable biological wastewater treatment processes. Especially during nitrification, alkalinity is continuously consumed, which can lower the pH value and impair microbial activity.
sera enables the targeted dosing of lime milk or chalk suspensions to increase buffering capacity and maintain a stable pH range. This ensures consistent treatment performance, even under fluctuating influent conditions.
The modular dosing systems provide precise and reliable dosing – even for abrasive and solids-laden media. Robust components, flexible configurations and tailored materials ensure safe and continuous operation.

Decalcification and cleaning of ventilation systems
Fine-bubble aeration elements in aeration tanks require an efficient oxygen supply. Blockages, e.g. due to lime precipitation, increase energy consumption. The differential pressure can be reduced by injecting acid into the supply air line.
The mobile sera dosing system enables safe and precise dosing of formic acid and acetic acid. It is mounted on a platform trolley, can be used flexibly and is equipped with an integrated collecting device. High-quality components such as a durable stainless steel dosing valve ensure reliability. A chemical vapour lock can be added as an option. Thanks to its compact design and high mobility, the system offers a flexible and safe solution for acid dosing.

Phosphate precipitation
Targeted phosphate precipitation also plays a key role in the biological purification process in order to ensure stable effluent values. Fluctuating feed conditions and inaccurate dosing can impair precipitation performance, increase chemical consumption and lead to limit values being exceeded.
The sera dosing systems ensure precise and needs-based dosing of precipitants directly in the aeration tank. This stabilises phosphorus elimination, optimises the use of chemicals and controls the amount of sludge. Thanks to their modular design, the systems can be flexibly integrated and adapted to different requirements - for reliable and economical operation.

Carbon sources for denitrification
An optimum nutrient ratio is crucial for the degradation performance of microorganisms. Easily biodegradable carbon compounds are required for effective denitrification, which is why external carbon sources such as methanol, ethanol, acetic acid or glycol are dosed.
The modular dosing system enables flexible customisation and ensures safe and precise addition of the media. It is ATEX-compliant for handling flammable liquids, space-saving and easy to integrate into existing systems. Various pump types, pipe materials and installation options are available depending on requirements. A leakage probe offers additional protection and increases operational safety.

Elimination of trace substances
The removal of micropollutants is becoming increasingly important in wastewater treatment. Processes such as ozonation, activated carbon or membrane technology require precise dosing of oxidation and system chemicals for stable processes.
sera enables the safe addition of e.g. hydrogen peroxide or sodium hypochlorite. This reduces deposits, protects membranes and increases efficiency.
The modular CVD dosing systems ensure precise dosing from small containers, IBCs or storage tanks. Flexible components and optional safety features ensure reliable operation.

Sludge conditioning
Sludge conditioning improves the dewatering properties of sewage sludge and facilitates its disposal and utilisation. The use of flocculants optimises the separation of solids and liquids, which reduces the sludge volume and increases the dry substance. This leads to lower disposal costs and enables more efficient further processing, for example in agricultural use or thermal utilisation. In addition, targeted sludge conditioning contributes to compliance with legal requirements and the sustainable utilisation of resources.
sera POLYLINE polymer treatment stations offer an efficient solution for thickening and dewatering sludge. They are available in various designs, can be customised on a modular basis and are suitable for both powdered and liquid polymers. The systems are characterised by high operational reliability, cost-effectiveness and space-saving design. Additional features such as an inclined floor for complete emptying and large openings for easy cleaning ensure maintenance-friendly use.

Foam control
Excessive foaming can cause considerable disruption in many processes - especially in sludge treatment. Our standardised CVD dosing systems offer the right solution here: they enable precise and reliable dosing of defoaming agents to reduce and prevent foaming.
Thanks to their modular design, the systems can be flexibly adapted to the respective requirements. In combination with diaphragm pumps and freely configurable assemblies, they can be used in a variety of ways - whether for dispensing from small containers, IBCs or storage tanks

Sludge conditioning
Sludge conditioning is crucial for efficient thickening and stable processes in the post-thickener. Fluctuating sludge qualities and uneven polymer preparation can impair floc formation, reduce dry matter and increase polymer consumption.
The POLYLINE polymer preparation stations from sera ensure a uniform and reproducible polymer solution. This improves floc formation, reduces the sludge volume and stabilises the thickening performance. The modular system can be flexibly customised, has a compact design and is suitable for different types of polymer. Robust components and well thought-out details ensure reliable and economical operation.

Sludge conditioning
Effective sludge conditioning is the basis for economical sludge dewatering. Inaccurate polymer conditioning leads to unstable floc formation, increased chemical consumption and rising disposal costs.
The POLYLINE polymer conditioning stations from sera enable precise and consistent polymer dosing. This specifically improves the dewatering properties, achieves higher dry substances and reduces operating costs. Thanks to their modular design, the systems can be flexibly integrated and adapted to different requirements - for a stable and efficient dewatering process.
