Acting responsibly is an integral part of our identity as a family-run business.
In doing so, we give equal consideration to environmental, economic and social aspects. We are constantly working to further develop our processes, use resources efficiently, create safe working conditions and collaborate responsibly with our employees, partners and suppliers.
Our measures are based on recognised standards and are regularly reviewed and refined.
UN Global Compact
Since 2022, sera has been a member of the UN Global Compact and is thus committed to its ten principles in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
Our sustainability management is also guided by five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

- SDG 4 Quality Education
- SDG 5 Gender Equality
- SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production
- SDG 13 Climate Action
The principles of the UN Global Compact form the framework for our actions. The following measures illustrate how these are reflected in our day-to-day business operations:
Expanding our in-house production capabilities
With our injection moulding machine, we are specifically expanding our manufacturing capabilities. This enables us to produce selected components in-house and respond more flexibly to requirements.
Environmental projects in training
Sustainability is also an integral part of our training programme. At the annual trainee environmental day, our trainees and students develop and implement their own environmental projects on the factory premises in Immenhausen.
Recyclables management
We are continuously refining our recyclables management concept. One example is the use of a ‘Refillomat’, a machine that allows spray cans to be refilled multiple times. This reduces single-use packaging and eliminates the need for conventional propellants.
Carbon footprint
Tracking our greenhouse gas emissions forms an important basis for the further development of our company.
By regularly analysing our emissions, we ensure transparency and are able to assess measures for improvement in a targeted manner.
Our activities include, amongst other things:
- the expansion of hydrogen-related technologies
- the further development of energy-efficient production processes
- measures relating to energy supply at our main site
- the continuous analysis of our CO₂ emissions
ISO 14001
sera is certified in accordance with the environmental standard DIN EN ISO 14001:2015. A central component of this environmental management system is the comprehensive consideration of the entire life cycle of our products. We are committed to taking back all products and devices at the end of their useful life and subjecting them to careful inspection.
Depending on their condition, they are either reused or recycled. This enables materials to be reused or properly recycled.

Occupational safety
Health and safety is an integral part of our day-to-day work.
Through our occupational health and safety management system, we lay the foundations for safe working conditions and the continuous improvement of our health and safety practices.
Since 2012, sera has held the BG quality mark ‘Sicher mit System’. The renewal of this award in 2025 confirms the effectiveness of our occupational health and safety management system.
Regular training sessions, site inspections and analyses help us to identify risks at an early stage and systematically implement improvements.
