Hydrogen – Compression for storage and transport
After production, hydrogen is compressed to high pressures for storage, transport or industrial applications. sera metal-diaphragm compressors enable oil-free hydrogen compression up to 900 bar and are suitable for applications such as hydrogen refuelling stations, storage systems and industrial gas supply.
Thanks to their hermetically sealed design, compression takes place without any contact between the lubricant and the process gas. This makes the systems suitable for applications with high requirements for gas purity.
Ammonia synthesis – compression for high-pressure processes
In ammonia synthesis, too, hydrogen and nitrogen are compressed under high pressure and fed into the process. sera diaphragm compressors support these applications with oil-free gas compression and a design tailored to the specific process.

Energy storage - hydrogen as a long-term storage medium
In addition to diaphragm compressors, piston compressors are often used in smaller systems. The dry-running piston compressor from sera enables seasonal hydrogen storage by storing surplus energy from photovoltaic systems in the form of hydrogen.
